Battle of the Mind
Mind is the Arena of Faith
Human minds can be easily influenced by outside forces, especially when we are separated from the truth that God’s word is powerful enough to protect us from the bad influencers that attempt to control our thoughts. There is little to almost nothing we can do about it, even with the involvement of expert practitioners such as psychologists, psychiatrists, and brain surgeons, and even adding spiritual leaders and scientists in the field would not find the hidden secret of the mind. Many theories have been exhausted to prove the science of the mind but failed. The system of ideas refers to the ideology of an individual or group with certain mindsets of opinions and beliefs.
Cult, occult, and religion can be defined as beliefs with little differences to be distinct. If not all, few isms are part of the ideological system; communism, socialism, and nationalism are political isms besides conservatism, fascism, and more. Religious beliefs are mostly inherited from many generations and are often carried out and influenced by the community’s elders or the head of the family to their youngsters.
The tradition and culture that they want to keep preserving their identity and contributions to the world. To establish a belief system (own ism), the mind takes control, followed by the contribution of the heart and the development of expression through emotion. Setting the mind in particular, ideas that characterize a make-believe story, proven to be accurate, and, when delivered rightly and timely, can encourage followers. This system of ideas constitutes meeting the set goals, proven responses, and expectations, with actions receiving positive reactions.
We can only assume that all suggestions or ideas are good until proven wrong. If science fails, let us adopt the spiritual strategies necessary to break into the mental strongholds. If there is no other way, the only way is to let us give way to God’s power and might to do it for us. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” 2 Corinthians 10:4
1 Peter 1:13 -“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Isaiah 55:8 is the answer: “For My [God’s] thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD.” If we are only to rely on our ways, we will fail. We are on the battlefield, and we fight against principalities. We may not even win the battle; what more chances can we get to win the war? In a spiritual battle, the
Mind is the battleground; we can win the battle by controlling the mouth to speak on behalf of the mind and letting the emotion do the action. The enemy cannot read our minds, and they cannot fight with emotion because they lack possession of emotion. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
The principalities in heavenly realms is the spirit of darkness, as Job mentioned in 1:6-7 “Now on a certain day when the sons of God came to stand before Yahweh, Satan also was present among them. “Yahweh said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered Yahweh and said, “From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” it was some other place than the earth.” We should not assume he walks back and forth in God’s abode; that is a lie. Walking down in and from his abode where fire and brimstone cannot be quenched is much more accurate. God created the heavens meaning more than one. So, it will not be where God is; a person with God’s mind wouldn’t think that God is still in fellowship with the prince of the air.
To win man’s ideology, we need God to take over. Satan is powerful, and no flesh alone can win this ongoing battle. Spiritual warfare can be won through God’s presence, and by the involvement of His Divine word, our mind will be shielded from the attack, and as long as we remain obedient children of God, the devil’s influence will never work. The devil tried three times to deceive Jesus, and three times Jesus used the word of God, so the devil walked away without success. Therefore, it did not work. The most significant defense is to have the mind of God, and that is to have His word in mind and always be ready to defend our rights to maintain our position as sons of the highest, the Almighty. Remember, “the prince of the power of the air” and his spiritual influence “works only in the children of disobedience. Ephesians 2:2
There are two competing spirits; the Spirit that gives a good life and the Spirit that takes the good out of life. A godly spirit against the evil spirit, wicked influencer against the righteous, and the Holy Spirit within us against the influence of the spirit of disobedience around us waiting to devour their victims when given an opportunity.
What about you? Do you know how to discern the carnal minds of the wicked who always thought of distracting your relationship with God? Do you know how to guard yourself when faced with spiritual attack? Do you know how to avoid leaning on your understanding when facing a brutal encounter with the unknown? God said: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverb 3:5 -6. “Whoever trusts in his mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered. “Proverbs 28:26
Relying on the understanding of man and how the word of God needs to be interpreted will lead people astray. God will do this when we are in total submission to His wholeness. Submit to God and make a request, and the Holy Spirit will guide you to the word of truth.
