THE PROPHETIC FALL OF HUMANITY

Corruption has become a chronic disease of the human mind: This is the story of how humanity fell, even the honest are not immune, and where God has made a way back when there is no other way.

1. The Chronic Nature of Corruption

Corruption has overpowered the mind — even the most honest person imaginable cannot withstand it alone. It becomes chronic, a disease where a wicked mind begins to attack itself. Long-lasting, difficult to end.

Those who hold the power of corruption bear greater guilt than those they influence. But that does not license the followers of the wicked to sin and continue without accountability. They too will be charged with the same sin.

What can responsible people do to reduce this injustice? We must go back to where corruption began — The Garden.

When the first man invited Sin in, he ruined the perfect mind intended for all humanity.

2. The Genesis of the Grief

To reset the Fall is impossible for man, but possible for God.

Will He do it? Will He give the flesh another chance to grieve Him again?

“My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he also is flesh.” – Genesis 6:3

“The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth…” – Genesis 6:5-6

God grieved in His heart that He had made man on the earth.

As Genesis 6:12 reveals, corruption is self-inflicted, born of the flesh and not of the Spirit. It is fueled by the push of others, by envy, by seeing luxurious living. It is everywhere. It collapses the human mind.

Everyone wants a piece of gold. The attitude of “If they can do it, I can also do it” the spirit of keeping up with the Joneses — took hold. Every person became guilty of taking the good things God provided and using them apart from His will and purpose.

When man rises to a high place in society, he will often sacrifice his very soul to be great in this world of deceit and temptation. A world without true love, where every imagination of the heart is continually evil.

It became heartbreaking truth: to live nobly could not bring joyful living, righteous living could not earn sainthood, and moral value could not put food on the table. This is how nations became corrupted.

Consider: What do you feel when you hear that our LORD grieved that He had made man? What will you do with your money when you hear the end is near? If you were offered more time on earth, but had to give up all your riches and glory to return to where you were before you fell in love with them — would you?

Even Solomon in his advanced age lamented this:

“So, I hated life… For a man may labor with wisdom, knowledge and skill, and then must leave all he owns to someone who did not work for it. This too is meaningless and a great misfortune.” – Ecclesiastes 2:17-21

We live in borrowed time, in a borrowed vessel — the flesh — with temporary happiness and sadness.

Even David, a man after God’s own heart, after serving his generation by the will of God, “fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and saw corruption.” – Acts 13:36

God sent the deluge to end corruption in Noah’s time- and wiped-out humanity except Noah’s family. If He were to deal with flesh again in the same way, His unconditional love would be questioned by those who believe He is a God of Love.

3. The Path of Renewal – Spiritual Discipline

We should not focus on satisfying the desire of the flesh, but be transformed by the renewal of our mind, that we may discern what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

While living in the flesh, our sinful impulses often dominate the compassion of the Spirit. Instead of bearing fruit and harvesting lost souls, we leave them wandering in the wilderness of today, looking for someone to help them find the grace of God.

If we can fellowship with them, we can act as a channel of God’s grace — never claiming we are grace but guiding them until they find their own way. Through their testimony that God’s grace is not hard to find, we make a harvest that pleases the LORD.

Corruption happens because of our support. We put people in power because of popularity, monetary gain, bribery, promises, misinformation, and fake news — which corrupt politicians pay people to spread as trolls.

One of the worst corruptions involves the church being endorsed, and in return, money goes into the collection pocket, not the church’s collection box. It’s a shame; members do not even care that their leaders are getting richer while using the Word of God they cherish. They don’t care if they are lost in translation, as long as they feel blessed by their leaders.

But there is a sanctuary within the storm: Spiritual Stillness.

Spiritual discipline gives openness to the Divine Presence. The disciplines of silence through meditation and prayer, isolation to refocus lost concentration, and stillness lead to love of God, self-respect, and respect for others.

Be mindful: Corruption has many forms, and every form is sin. Bribing to influence others to do wicked things is sin, and receiving bribes is the same offense.

Unjust decisions have consequences, though punishments may differ. Just decisions are sacred to the LORD:

“Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates… and they shall judge the people with just judgment.” – Deuteronomy 16:18

Allow yourself time to be disgusted with your own flesh when you miss the mark, so that your sin does not disgust the Spirit of God within you. When we do not discipline the desire of the flesh, it becomes habit. Habit can erode our good moral character, and our behavior and attitude become unacceptable Christian living.

We are the walking advertisement of God’s goodness. So, we must watch and be careful how we carry ourselves.

4. The Mindset of Heaven

What will our mindset be when we reach heaven? While no one has a postcard from the other side, Scripture and human longing converge on four transformations:

1. From Scarcity to Abundance: On earth we live in lack — not enough time, money, health, love. In heaven, we move to Total Sufficiency. The fight-or-flight response evaporates. We shift from surviving to being.

2. From Dimness to Clarity: Now we see through a glass, darkly. There, we will see clearly. Every hardship, random encounter, and missed opportunity will fit into a perfect mosaic. A mindset of Radical Perspective and profound relief.

3. From Ego to Belong: On earth we defend identity and compare. In heaven, the ego dissolves. We shift from “How do I fit in?” to “I am an integral part of the Whole.” Ultimate belonging.

4. From Time to Presence: Anxiety lives in past regret and future worry. If there is no more time, the mind stops traveling. We enter Eternal Presence — pure, unending flow in the Now.

5. Blessing vs. Gift — A Sacred Distinction

A Gift is specific and timely — like a sealed bottle of water given to a parched wanderer in the desert. An unexpected windfall, a healing, a beautiful sunset when you needed a sign. It is tangible provision for a moment.

A Blessing is a state of being — like the steady, life-giving spring that never stops flowing. It is breath, health, peace, family, the abiding presence of God. It is ongoing.

A gift is given; a blessing is inhabited. Both come from the Father’s loving heart, but one meets your need, the other sustains your life.

6. God: Law and Beyond

God’s judgment is the perfect balance of justice and mercy. Natural consequences show us judgment — we reap what we sow. But spiritual judgment flows from His holiness and justice.

He judged Adam and Eve, the generation of Noah, and many more — always when we grieved His heart. Yet His desire is to be with humanity. When Adam sinned, humanity continued. When the flood came, a family was saved. God has no plan to totally eradicate humanity.

He provided reconciliation through His Son, Jesus. God never hates His children — He loves the sinner and wants to redeem them, but He hates the sin.

“Therefore, I will judge you, each one according to his own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.” – Ezekiel 18:30

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise… Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9

Without His patience, humanity would long be gone. Draw close to His standard by faith, believe, and He will do the rest to restore you fully.

7. The One-Time Atonement

Jesus accomplished a one-time atonement for mankind. Those people are gone and forgotten centuries ago, but the legacy He left is a lifetime inheritance — eternal.

Jesus is not coming back to offer Himself again. Otherwise, it would become a pattern, He would have to suffer again, and mankind would have no end in sinning. The Savior would become an enabler of sin.

God is satisfied with Jesus’ one-time mission. His blood will never be shed again. It is the only blood that brought forgiveness, the only blood that brought mankind back to God.

Yet humans are back sinning continually — nothing is new, corruption of all kinds. Who doesn’t want money, especially easy money?

Who will atone for people if Jesus is not coming back for that purpose? They can ask God for repentance. It is easily said. But God knows they will sin repeatedly.

Do they need a traditional church for confession? Do they need a priest or pastor to listen? How will they know they are forgiven?

God will make a way when there is no other way. In ancient times when they needed help, they went directly to God. When it did not rain, they asked God. David asked forgiveness for all his sins directly.

God is the same God of yesteryear and today. Prayer is our means of communication with Him, and He hears the prayers of those with a contrite heart.

Jesus provided the atonement once for all. But no one can receive that atonement *for* you. Only you, in personal faith and contrite prayer, can accept it.

8. How Other Traditions Describe the Ultimate Mindset

Buddhism – Nirvana: Not a place, but the extinguishing of craving and ego. Suffering ends when attachment ends. The mindset is supreme stillness, radical clarity, and realization of interconnectedness — freedom from scarcity because desire itself ceases.

Stoicism – Harmony with the Cosmos: The universe is governed by Logos (Rational Order). Peace comes not from changing events, but from aligning your will with reality. Sufficiency is found in virtue alone. The ego is not destroyed but surrendered to the Whole. The mindset is equanimity, duty in the present moment, and acceptance of fate.

Both echo the Biblical truth: transcendence begins with transformation of the mind.

Final Exhortation: Be the Advertisement

Hear this, people of God! You live in a borrowed vessel, on borrowed time, but you carry an eternal light!

Do not be discouraged by the fall — be awakened by it. The garden was lost, but the way back was bought with blood that will never be shed again.

So today: Enter the stillness.  Silence the noise. Let prayer become your breath again. Let disgust for sin keep you holy, not shamed.

Stop chasing the gold that perishes. Start being the spring that never runs dry. Be just at your gates. Be honest when lying pays. Be kind when cruelty is popular.

You are not called to be the Sun — you are called to reflect it. And in a world collapsing under corruption, a single faithful reflection is enough to guide wandering souls’ home.

Rise. Return to the Garden within your heart. Let God renew your mind. And walk — as a living, advertisement of His goodness — until the day you move from scarcity to sufficiency, from dimness to clarity, from striving to pure presence with Him forever. Amen.
