Spending Time With God
For some of us reading the Bible, God could tell us, “I want to spend time with you, but you are not listening and are in a hurry to get it over with. I love you and want to talk to you, but you keep reading, and the heart is not listening, and you end up not understanding what you read. We ignored the first love taught by our earthly parents to fear God without clearly explaining why we have to fear God. We treat God as if He were that parent who watches every move we make. It is true that parents are often overprotective and don’t want their children to make mistakes that may unfavorably affect their future. They want good things for their kids.
They rear their children the best they could. From the food they eat to watching them during school age, to picking who will be their wife/husband, to raising their grandchildren. Parents are always on their backs because that is how parents are involved in their kids’ day-to-day living, even though they are all grown up and have Family. That is the culture most of us grew up with. Parents are concerned about the welfare of their kids. We should also be concerned about our parents’ situation, and we must show them and tell them how much we love them while they can still hear us.
When we imagine our parents in God’s image and likeness, we will see no difference in how God loves and cares for us. We often do not realize that. Once they begin to have children, they are the most worried and fearful couple in this life drama. We are their precious gift from God. That is more proof that God made us in His image and likeness. His love and care for our Salvation made Him send His only Son. Children are God’s special possession. When we spend time with our parents, we spend time with God.
Recommended verse: “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12).
Spending Time With God—Provider of our needs.
Be responsible for the lost souls around you. Some people can be saved because of your prayers. Though God does not change, He can change circumstances. God wants to show His glory through us. It does not matter if we fully know or not the Scripture. Sharing God’s goodness in our lives is more than enough than memorizing all the written word and not doing it.
As we always pray, we want God to give us a favor: Family members to be saved, sin to be forgiven even if we do not stop sinning the same sin every day; we want God to provide good health and wealth, a good spouse, neighbors, and friends. A nonstop asking for more wants, and eventually, what happens is what we want never reaches the ears of heaven.
God provides more of our needs than wants. God will not discourage us from giving us what we want, but we must work for it. God will encourage, inspire, and guide us to the path where we will experience better joy even without the wants we need. There is a temporary joy and a long-lasting one. Which one do you prefer, hard chocolate or hard candy with the same taste of joy? It is always our choice: human beings can choose right from wrong through the Gift of Free Will. God will not interfere with our choice, but we are responsible for the results.
Spend Time With God While in the Flesh.
Every time we choose to do God’s will instead of our own, We hold onto something eternal; something that has eternal value is gained in our hearts. It is a Treasure more precious than Gold and Silver. Our bodies are the kingdom built with the Spirit of God where His throne sits in our hearts —the Holy seat of the holy of Hollies. Though our body is still made up of flesh, we are born in the Spirit of God after the victorious mission of our Lord Jesus, our brother.
We must stop trying to do things in the power of the flesh. We must rely on the strength of the Spirit of the Lord Almighty. Apart from God, we can do nothing like a bag of dust that bounces around whenever the wind blows without knowing where it will land and when it will stop. Romans 8:6 For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set of the Spirit is life and peace.
When praying, especially with Bible verses (Pastoral prayer), shut the door of your chosen room and mute the noise around you! Stay calm and quiet, be still, and pay attention to the whispering voice delivered in your ears that might be the LORD talking to you. Be mindful and focus on God. As the saying goes, when you read the Bible, you might hear the voice of God talking to you. You do not want to be distracted, which may cause you to miss God’s message.
Spend time with the Lord Almighty, get to know Him daily, and try to understand and meditate on His Word so that you may get the revelation to share for the edification and improvement of the believers and encouragement for the unbelief to change their minds and be a believer of the one true God. The Lord does not build the house to be unoccupied and not protected. The house is the kingdom built by His Spirit. We are the kingdom, and anyone in the household is part of the kingdom. The kingdom is our Family, the gift from God. The kingdom will call on the name of the LORD and will be saved.
If the Lord does not build the house, it is useless for the builders to work on it. If the Lord does not protect a city, it is useless for the guard to stay alert. Psalm 127:1.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Spend Time With God In Spirit.
Talk to God about anything and everything you choose, any day, time, and place, so the focus is on Him alone. Alert and undistracted. God is a good Father, a supreme head, and an extra-special leader of the Family. God the Father is a good listener and solution provider of any issues submitted to Him by His children who always trust him. He’s a great listener, which makes Him a great leader and helper, a great defender because He is a refuge for all of us and the only judge, and most of all, a best friend because He is our Father and obedient sons and daughters we put out our hearts before him. We seek His face and strength in every encounter with the wicked Spirit we cannot bear.
He makes promises as a guide and not as a tool to boast about our relationship with Him to others. Ourselves alone will not work because of our nature of just one inch above the standard of living we feel like somebody favored. We must devote ourselves to prayers so we will never be close to any attack by evil forces who are always looking for a chance to grab any opportunity when we make a temporary failure of concentration—sinful mistakes.
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
The Bible is the Book of Love, Salvation, and Instructions, so we may be guided to stay on the right path toward a victorious journey meeting the standards of God. Meditate continually on it day and night, so we obey everything written in it. And we will leave nothing but prosperity and success in everything we do.
We can put all our hope in His word, trusting He will provide the promises He once has spoken. The promise that He will never leave nor forsake us. We must talk with God relentlessly and tirelessly until we prove we are worthy of His love and care. All things matter and may help our relationship with Him grow closer using the strength of our faith and the gift of help He wants us to use for the unfortunate. Praying, meditation, and devotion are essential to understanding the message He sent through the Holy Bible that other believers may need.
When we pray, thank God for the Spirit of life and the new blessings. We praise, worship, and adore Him from the Spirit of our hearts and the prayer of our souls. When we pray for our needs, we should also pray for others need. It is more pleasing to God when we care for others. When we meditate on God’s promises, we feel help is at hand, our hope is more remarkable than before, and we awaken our awareness that the light of God brightens our connection with the Family of God. Doing God’s will, purpose, ways, and thoughts will lead to time spent with Him.
Proverbs 16:3: Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.
Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Unfavorable situations for not making time for the Lord.
Disconnecting with God makes you apart from His grace—the blessings He gives daily, the guidance and protection available to everyone who believes. He may forget about you. God will never interfere with our free will. If we intentionally distance ourselves from Him, the consequences of that act are on our shoulders.
God will say, “I never knew you. Who are you to come to me when you are in need and do not know me when you are busy enjoying the blessings I gave you?” You ignored my presence. You spent more time the world has offered you than the word that gives you life. Why do people quickly forget all the good things they received? Your mind was never in my presence, and your thoughts are no longer there. When you are still a baby crying for milk, I provide that to you.
I got to know you again, but the end of grace for humanity is almost over, and you might be unable to repent. The Day of Judgement strengthens its position on the desire to end whatever has to end. The stormy waves, which are twice more incredible than the size of the highest mountain, are on standby. No one knows, not even the angels when life will end. God may be still waiting for more souls to be saved. The days are unpredictable and will come unexpectedly from directions other than prevailing wind and waves of chosen witnesses.
There are places where the fire is coming from above the cloud to give its final touch down to where it is doomed to fall. Drought will be a direct hit to those places where they allowed their land to be corrupted by a few groups of people for the love of money—nations against nations and people against people, fighting for power and survival. The unrepented party who killed the land because of greed will taste an irrevocable ending. Those who tolerated and became an accessory to all the corruption in the land will also be dealt with the punishments. Nature will blow after blow a strange and mighty wind, making way for the coming of the only Judge and the only true God together with His faithful witness. His Son, Jesus, the 2nd Adam we know, and he revealed this will happen when the gift of grace is consumed. Time remains at this time.
Let evil thoughts depart from our minds. Repent and come humbly to God for forgiveness. Instead of hearing Him say this passage in Matthew 7:23, I will say to them in plain words, ” I never knew you. Go away from Me, you who do wrong! “
James 4:2: You want what you don’t have, and ignore what you have. So you will do everything to get it, and your enthusiasm, even if it costs your soul to go to the pit of the wicked, you might not even care. You are jealous of what others have and can’t get it because you lack understanding of how to acquire it. What we want is not just like raindrops that fall from above; we only need to use our bodies to get wet. We don’t have what we want because we don’t have a desire to work for it. If faith alone can justify our Salvation, What is faith, without work, is dead? James2:14-22. Philippians 2:12-13 ESV—Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own Salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
