Gospel Part 4: The Significant Message of the Gospel

Series Part 4: The Significant Message of the Gospel

The message of the gospel is from God which means the good news is from God delivered by the Son Jesus. God wants us to know Him and acknowledge His existence in our life, that He is a Spirit to be worshiped in Spirit and truth. He is an all-knowing God (omniscience), He is everywhere (omnipresence), and He is all-powerful (Omnipotence) which also means that God is in total control. God is an all-loving Father (omnibenevolence). As an all-loving Father, He is involved in human activity with love and care directing every event in our lives towards the end as He keeps His word to be with Him.

Why does God allow unfortunate things to happen especially to good people? This question has been answered many times in many ways. First God gave us life to manage. He gave mankind’s sexual desire to multiply with a condition to subdue it but in return is a population explosion. God gave us agricultural land to till, what did we do? Humans converted the land into a subdivision. Do not eat animals with cloven hooves, what did humans do? Eat pigs and what did they get in return? Health problems. Unfortunate things happen because of our disobedience. God gave us all things good and perfect, but breaking this goodness and perfection leads us to be imperfect and vulnerable to all kinds of temptation, deceit, and lies.

Humans are sinners and subject to judgment but God is love and God is good, His mercy and grace can save us to witness the final judgment. Ephesians 2:8-9 explains that we are saved by grace, through faith. God’s saving grace will lead us to heaven not because we earned it but by God’s gracious gift. God’s love never fails. The psalmist proclaims, “The LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever” (Psalm 100:5, NLT). As John explains: “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:10, NIV). “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. … He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God …” KJV.

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death?” “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loves us, and  I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love, Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can not keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35, 37-39).

God allows us to represent His divine love to others as we obey His command to “love thy neighbors as yourself and to love thy enemies” which may bring reconciliation and change of heart from hatred to peaceful living. When we seed love, it will bring more harvest that we can not even imagine. God will continue to supply us with His unending love as He said that “when we give blessings to others God will bless us.” We will always have God’s blessings. Luck comes from human effort, and to be blessed is from God. Luck comes with joy dictated by our emotion and goes after a while; blessings come with joy from our heart ordained by the Spirit within us.

When people begin to live, to love and respect and call on the name of the LORD, the world will amazingly change to a place where the inhabitants will enjoy living in peace. The violent world will be transformed into heavenliness where wrongdoings will no longer have a chance to exist. It will be a better place to live than the ancient people ever experience because they missed the mark and never recovered. People will be reformed and transformed and will feel the presence of the power of God’s love day and night, every day till we meet Him face to face. If these things happen, the new earth and new heaven will be visible to those who made it this far.

“Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:39, NLT). This is the message from God to let love be in our hearts. He chastised us when we do wrong- Proverb 3:12, He wants us to be with Him in eternity – Ephesians. 1:4-5, He wants us to love one another – I John 4:7-8, 20-21, Matthew 5:44-45, God loves those who love and obey the Son (Him) (John 14:21), God loved the world enough to send His Son to die (John 3:16), to love enemies and the wicked is to be like God (Luke 6:35), His love is poured into believers’ hearts (Romans 5:5), God loves and preserves His godly people Psalm. 37:28, even when they are faithless (Hoses. 3:1), God deserves thanks because of His perpetual love (Psalm 100:5)

Love means everything from salvation to eternity. If you know God, you know what love is and love conquers all. One word with many branches. Jesus declared: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment” (Matthew 22:37- 38, NLT).

God is all in all.
