Gospel Part 3: The Enduring Gospel

Series Part 3: The Enduring Gospel

Revelation 14:6, “Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. And he said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

Fearing God is not to be afraid of Him, but to be closer to Him, to be in constant communication with Him through prayer and meditation. Great promise for those who heed the Word of the LORD: success, prosperity, and the peace and presence of God Himself is more than enough to have everything. “The book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”—Joshua 1:8-9 (KJV).

When Joshua felt the overwhelming task on his shoulder when God spoke to him after the death of Moses to go to the land He promised the children of Israel, the LORD offered these words of encouragement: “Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” When we are obedient to the will of God, He will be with us for all the days of our lives. He will never leave us nor forsake us. That’s a promise.

From everlasting to everlasting, the LORD is the everlasting God, His wholeness and richness are beyond our thoughts, He is in control of all the seen and unseen, the Alpha and the Omega, He holds the beginning of time and spaces, and the ends of the earth is on His hands. But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him The violence and corruption that lead Him to destroy mankind and all the living things during Noah’s time can also be the fate of the earth if mankind continues the wickedness they seem to enjoy. Judgment has been revealed and the grace period of human existence is about to expire if humans will not come together and call the name of the LORD.

We are all condemned for harboring sins and yet God’s mercy works perfectly on our behalf. The mercy of the LORD endures forever upon people that fear him. He will never get tired nor weary, and no one can perceive his understanding of why He let the dark shadow follow us as we move. Is it because we are not fully in submission to be under His wings? They have power over our weaknesses, and when we are out of focus then they attack. But those who hope in the LORD will receive a renewal of strength. “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.”—Deuteronomy 33:27, (KJV).

God is an eternal and everlasting God that has existed through all time. As Daniel—2:20-21 confirmed that God is forever “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever… God is in control; changes times and seasons; removes kings and sets up kings, and gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who understand… the emphasis is mine. God will eventually give all of mankind one last opportunity to turn from their sins and believe and trust in Christ whom God sent and decided to give up his life on his own authority for our sins so we can have a new life. Every nation, tribe, language, and people all over the world that believe in the Son will not be left out in the dark. Everyone will be uplifted and be brought to a place where they will not witness the pain and suffering to be handed down to evildoers.

On the hour of his judgment, God will finish His work of judgment upon a sinful world, and new earth has come. The angel calls out in a loud voice, “Fear God and give Him glory because the Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water” (Revelation 14:7-8). After proclaiming the everlasting gospel through the voice of an angel, the people of the four corners of the world will hear the good news and on their knees will call the name of the LORD, reject the deceit and lies of Satan, and with a resounding response accept the eternal truth of God.

The gospel is everlasting and those who believe the gospel will receive a profitable and eternal joy. Fear God is not to be afraid but a reverential fear which means we do not want to offend the LORD our God.

God is all in all.
