Holy Trinity- Three in One
Our finite minds cannot understand what is behind this mystery of God regarding the Trinity and why we even bother to explain in our own words what and where we can find this mystery unveiled. As we know God is very transparent about His word and in due time it will be revealed or it will be kept a sacred secret until we see Him face to face. Jesus spoke in parables that left His listeners wonder as to the meaning of his parables. He only revealed the parables to His disciples who were granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.
We learned the word of God and we acknowledge its truthfulness. We perceived what we saw and hear with our ears clearly for the hearts of the people who are pure to understand. Those who believe can be given the gift of spiritual discernment by which the things of the spirit made the eyes saw what others don’t. It is audibly clear even it is only a whisper and most of all either seeing or hearing understanding the message will be a bliss. Matthew said “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. For truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it" Matthew 13.
This doctrine of the Trinity is essential to Christianity. The belief in one God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. A unity of three in the Godhead. God the Father who is a spirit gives life and must be worship in spirit and in truth. He is immortal, our all in all, omnipotent, omnipresence, omniscience, His thought is different from our thoughts and His ways are different from ours. He is infinite. He revealed a sacred secret to some and later to many people in due time. God, who is love, wants us to be like Him and the Son.
The Son is the second person in the Godhead, He is both human and Divine God and Man sent by the Father that through Him the world will be saved. He is the unblemished Son became sin for us so that we, who are sinners, might become the righteousness of God. He offered His life for the redemption of our sin. It is sad to hear preachers saying that the Father sent the Son to die taking the glory of the Son. We give credit where the credit is due. In John 10 Jesus said: “The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again. No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.”John 10:17-18 (NLT).
God is not pleased to make sacrifice using children, Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molech; no one could use to sacrifice his sons or daughters; Leviticus 18:21;20:2-5; 2 Kings 23.10; 2 Kings 16.3; 2 Kings 17.31; 2 Kings 21.6; 2 Kings 23.10; Jeremiah 32.35; Jereremiah7.31; Deuteronomy 12.31; Deuteronomy 18.10; Ezekiel 20.31. Aside from God not please to sacrifice their children; just to let others know that He hates the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars.
Jesus said: “whoever does the Father’s will is my brother and sister and mother." Very clear that we are part of God’s family and all it takes is to be obedient to the Father’s will as the Son does. Also Jesus said that He is the way the truth and the life which means he is the way to salvation, and the truth of the word of God has been spoken by him and the life to eternal being is to acknowledge him as the Father said “whoever believe in him will have eternal life” John 3:16
The doctrine of the Trinity is truly one of the foundations of the Christian faith. It is significant because it deals with God. What He thinks and His ways of works. His direct involvement in human lives to carry on His will and purpose. As Jesus said, if you obey the will of God you are my brother, my sister and mother. What more do we have to know but accept that we are part of the Trinity. The doctrine is necessary for us believers to be equipped and be enlightened that knowing the Father and the Son will lead us to know the third person of the Godhead.
We must learn the term or the figure of speech that God uses and having the knowledge of God will bring us to understand His concern not to twist the word of truth. We must try our best to present ourselves to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. In our Christian walk we believe that there is only one God and nothing else besides Him, that Trinity is three in oneness (Three in One) and three persons but distinct to each other, I and the Father are one different in nature from something else of a similar type.
In John 17:20-24 (NIV) it says: “Jesus Prays for All Believers”
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
“Jesus answered them, is it not written in your law, I said, you are gods?” “If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken” John 10:34-35(KJV). It is very clear that without the third person there will be no Trinity and without the believers presence in the Trinity there will be no unity (Tri-Unity). Either us or the righteous people before us will form the Trinity.
God is a Spirit and when Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on Him, and a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” In God’s grace this could had happened to us as partaker of divine nature of God. This could be the part when we experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit which many still don’t get it. These are the promises that enable us to share His divine nature as partakers of the divine nature of God. In this stage of our relationship with God, we have escaped the corruption in the world and God’s marvelous promises that His nature would become part of us.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.’ ‘Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises so that through them we may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. ’ ‘For this very reason, we have to make every effort to add to our faith to goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; ‘and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; ‘and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.” 1Peter 1:3-7
This is how the mystery of the Trinity was revealed to many people by election and by no means will we will encourage discussion in the presence of the spirit of disagreement, but to encourage to the truth of the revelation of God which is handed to elect children of God and not to the chosen few.
May the divine nature of God be poured unto you who believe of His existence and acknowledge that the Son has been given the authority to rule the earth with his saints? Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords show us the way to the kingdom of God. Thank you Father our creator, thank you Jesus our savior and thank you Holy Spirit that dwells in us.
