Weapons against the stigma of Fear, Worries and Anxiety.

Small fear can grow and overwhelm us. It can start from our mind, ear, eyes until it conquers the whole 5 senses  that a human has and then will spread to the nerves until our muscles tremble, and for all we know our entire body is already possessed by fear. Our fear attacks our body as our auto immune attacks our own body. In other words fear gives stress to our body and stress is the root of most diseases.  The only way to combat fear is to combat our own weaknesses. We take prescribed drugs from our health provider to fight for illnesses, so, it is almost the same thing that we should take as a prescription what the word of God says and what effect it can do to our spiritual health.

Have you ever heard about battle of the mind? It is the battlefield where the operation of the evil forces start.  It is a place where the good and evil meet.  It is the battle zone where  they deceive our senses.  They whisper lies  to our ears, the deceptive beauty they want us to perceive, the sweet aroma of living their ways which is part of their strategy to tempt us. And most of all, the  taste of milk and honey and the extravagant feeling of being on top of the world.  These are all in our minds even before the world offered it to you. “Live like a king is normal to human nature.”

When our focus is to serve God, we are already equipped with weapons to fight the good fight of faith and  reject the treasure on earth if it will cause us to separate from God. Fight the fear injected in our mind.  God did not give us the spirit of fear but of strength to fight the spirit of confusion. Worries and burdensome can hold us to move forward to our godly plan.  The  evildoers  want us to fall backward with our plan until we cannot think clear and divert our attention in blaming someone. There are many believers that until now ask this “Why God allows bad things to happen to good people?” It is not God that allows things to happen. It is us that allow it. We surrender the battle even before it started.

Fear and worry is an emotion and related to negative thoughts. Jesus said why worry about tomorrow when tomorrow has its own problem. We should not even worry if we will submit to Him the fear and worries; he will take it in which the enemy will not be happy. Remember that they tried to temp Jesus three times and it did not work.  Why they will think it will work now? If you think that something is going to happen bad,  submit yourself to God and humbly give it to Him and He will give you rest. Jesus used the word of God as it is written.

Worry is a state of mind caused by known circumstances. Our past experiences, experiences of somebody you know, the impact of those  experiences make us anxious. Fear is a feeling of insecurity. In most cases as a result of hearsay, superstition or invented fear of the mind. God commanded us not to fear because He knows that the enemy will use fear so we cannot move forward and lessen our hope and victories. In Isaiah 43:1 it says that we belong to Him. “Don't fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine.”

Worry and fear are related to each other and all grounded in lack of trust in God. Worry is more contained in our thoughts that  affects our psychological well being more than the harm it will do to our body, while fear can bring more harm to the body. Both worry and fear   are related to each other and will bring anxious body. The following Scriptures will surely give us strength and peace of mind; Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad. 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

We are born with nothing, so fear and worrying is not with us.  When we came to this world, the world has it, offered it to us and we accepted it. So, it is a choice we made.  Can we say no?  Of course not, because we are ignorant and ignorance is not an excuse anymore when we acquired the knowledge of the word of God. Can we un-choice it? Of course we could, now that we are sufficiently informed our conscience will take part of our day to day choices. Remember that God listens to the testimony of conscience but still do not forget that He looks into our heart.

When we put fear and worries to be the center of our Christian living,  there will only be two ways that might happen; it might go wrong or may not go wrong. It might happen or it might not. Why do we have to choose then? Sometimes our journey in this world does not give us any excuses but to choose whether we like it or not! When there is clear and present danger of a real fear our great defense is the Holy Spirit in us and if it is an imaginary danger,  we have to pray and meditate day in and day out until such thing is overcome.

Worries turn to fear and fear turn to anxiety and anxiety will produce stress in our body. When we are faced with this situation that most people do, turn to God and consciously surrender your free will to the will of God and God will do the rest.  Do what the LORD wants, and he will give you the desire of your heart.
