We might have heard from our parents, friends or learned from the Bible studies that Jesus Christ died for our sins, buried and raised by the Father and lived forevermore. He ascended into heaven and seated at the right hand of the Father. We also learned that Jesus Christ will rule the earth with His Saints. He will be the King of kings and Lord of lords when He comes back. Many are still waiting to this date and many walked away from the adherent millennialism belief of the doctrine of the coming of Jesus Christ. Some even turned their back from the faith. Many believers and one that I knew, a very close friend of mine, a Pastor and Missionary, strongly believed that Jesus is coming in his lifetime but left this world holding to his faith even without seeing the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Many believers already left this world without witnessing His coming while others still believe that He already came in fulfillment of His promise of coming soon. These believers are called Preterists.

The Scriptures mentioned two types of resurrections. The resurrection of the righteous and the resurrection of the unrighteous. Many, if not, all believers are united in hope of rising again the way God raised Jesus from the dead. In the Old Testament, awakening to everlasting life was mentioned in Daniel 12.2; those who are sleep in the dust of the ground will awake to receive an everlasting life, but others to disgrace and everlasting condemnation. While in the New Testament, Luke 14:14 told us about the resurrection of the righteous and John 5:28-29 says about the resurrection of life for the good work done and resurrection of condemnation for evil doers. A better resurrection stated in Hebrews 11:35 also a part of our hope. Hope strengthens our faith of having a glorified body.

How will the body be resurrected when they return to dust? Like the cremated body which supports the phrase from ashes to ashes and dust to dust—Genesis 3:19; Ecclesiastes 3:20-21; Job 30:19. It is now being considered the preference of the person, what he wants to do with his body when he dies. What counts is the free will, a gift from God that has to be enjoyed till death. The Church already accepted that cremation be permitted as long as it is in line with the belief in the resurrection of the body and not a protest or refusal to the doctrine of rising again. The cost of burial is expensive nowadays and some cannot make to pay and the reason that some expressed that cremation makes the process quicker compared to traditional interment of the deceased that will go to the process of decomposition before it will turn to dust.

There are many different beliefs about resurrection of the body. There are believers that when a child dies in infancy, the child will be resurrected as an infant. During the civil war, a wounded soldier prefers to die than to be amputated due to the belief that if he will be raised, he will be an amputee. There is also a common belief among eastern people that there is one part in human body that cannot be destroyed no matter what happens to the body. This part will cause the resurrection. There are so many beliefs but for us Christian we believe that when our body is resurrected, it will be like the resurrection of Jesus Christ in glorious body.

Our body needs rest after physical activities. We also need to refrain from sinning in our spiritual walk of life. God gave us time to rest and time to communicate with Him. He gave us the spirit of rest, which means that we can lean on Him after all the experiences we had for the day and night to thank Him and ask for forgiveness, if we have offended Him and thank Him for the breathe of life as we go sleep. When we wake up, consider yourself a new person free from sin and forgiven. Isn’t it a wonderful feeling that God gave us time in His space to clean ourselves from any unrighteousness - days in and days out? Evil spirit will not rest until they do evil things. They will tempt you over and over until you are subdued and it will only end when the world stops spinning. That is why it’s better to stay focus and walk with Him the God of all creations in this world of lies, deceit and temptation. God is in control and He is all in all.

Faith, Hope and Love are the three composition of our walk in life in believing that God exist and anyone who wants to come to him must believe of His existence. He rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:6
