Answered prayer is a gift from God, He answered your prayer because you follow His commandments or we can call it the Will of God. Follow Jesus Christ as he said, to go to your secret place and pray; Are you doing that? When you communicated with the Father, have you asked God the reason why you are making that request? Did you thank God after you pray?
Do we have a clean heart to have courage to ask God what we want and not what we needed? a heart of forgiveness and greedlessness, a heart that is pure and without malice. we can go on and on and as if there are no ending because that is the way it is to be closer to the Father. Always remember that He will never leave us nor forsake us in times of needs. There is no life without God.

More probably John is simply following the pattern of greetings common to Greek letters.

For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
